Franklin Central Recognized as a FAFSA Completion Goal School for 2024–2025

Franklin Central High School is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a FAFSA Completion Goal School for the 2024–2025 academic year. By exceeding the State of Indiana’s FAFSA completion goal, Franklin Central has affirmed its commitment to preparing students for life beyond high school and ensuring they have access to the financial resources needed for future success.

Exceeding the state’s FAFSA benchmark reflects both the strength of Franklin Central’s academic culture and its focus on lifelong learning beyond graduation. This accomplishment also reinforces Franklin Township Community School Corporation’s mission of Making a Difference through Purposeful Learning and Meaningful Collaboration. At Franklin Central, staff are living out the vision of Igniting Purpose by confidently guiding students to pursue their postsecondary dreams.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, families, and staff,” said Zak Tschiniak, Principal of Franklin Central High School. “Completing the FAFSA opens the door to countless opportunities, and I could not be more proud of our Flashes for achieving this goal.”

“The FAFSA can feel overwhelming for many families, but this recognition shows how our students and parents embraced the process,” said Gretchen Brooks, Director of School Counseling at Franklin Central. “We are thrilled to see so many students take this critical step toward making college and career training more accessible and affordable.”

“We are incredibly proud of Franklin Central High School for this accomplishment,” said Dr. Chase Huotari, Superintendent of Franklin Township Community School Corporation. “The level of collaboration between our guidance staff and parents that it took to make this happen was immense and truly made a difference for our students.”

About FAFSA

A common misconception about the FAFSA is that there is an income limit for financial aid. In reality, every student considering or planning to attend college should complete the FAFSA.

The application typically takes 30 minutes to one hour to complete. Families can prepare by gathering Social Security numbers, tax returns, and financial records in advance.

The FAFSA application window for the Class of 2026 opens on December 1, 2024, and closes on April 15, 2025.
